Serving our neighbors in West Homewood and anywhere else love takes us.

OUR SERVICE is geared towards compassion and justice for all, especially those the world forgets.

Weekender Backpack Ministry: In the Fall of 2015 Trinity launched this ministry in response to chronic childhood hunger in our community. As of Spring 2019, we have delivered over 35,000 weekend meal packs to food insecure students at the five Homewood City Schools and Hemphill Elementary. Volunteers are needed to pick up food from the Food Bank, assemble food packs, and deliver packs to the schools each week.

Breakfast for Neighbors without Homes: We will prepare and serve a hearty breakfast at Highlands United Methodist, in Five Points South, with our first date being Sept. 28.

Crop Drop: On Sunday, October 6th TUMC’s two campuses will partner with the Society of St Andrew to sort and distribute 20,000 pounds of surplus crop. Local feeding agencies will arrive at TUMC to pick up crop that we sort. This a fun (and a bit messy) service project that feeds the hungry, reduces food waste, and is perfect for the whole family! We invite you to wear your work clothes to worship and serve together!

Hey Neighborhood Night: Mark your calendars for this free family fun night for our church and community on Friday, October 25! We'll start at 6pm with crafts, pumpkin painting, bounce house jumping, and more! Then, we'll enjoy a hot dog dinner on hay bales as we watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” It's an awesome night, and we always have a TON of people from the neighborhood. We will need volunteers for the meal, hospitality, games, crafts, setup/cleanup, etc.

ARC Angel Tree: During the Advent Season we will collect Christmas gifts for adult residents from the ARC of Jefferson County. Many of these adults have intellectual disabilities and limited family support.

Food Share:  Our food pantry ministry meets every Tuesday from 2:30-4:30pm. Each week we provide free food to those struggling with food insecurity, monthly we provide diapers to families with young children. We are currently serving over 200 households each month. You can help by setting up our “store” from 11-2 and/or assisting families as they shop from 2:30-4:30pm. Volunteers of all ages can plug into this ongoing relational ministry. We hope you join us!

Children’s Clothing Closet: Located just below our sanctuary, our closet is entirely stocked with donations from the TUMC family. We accept seasonally appropriate like new or new children’s clothing and shoes, as well as larger items like high chairs and pack n plays. Donated items and volunteer shopkeepers are always needed. Want to donate? Drop off items in the Closet next time you are at church. Receipts for your donation can be found in the girl’s clothing room. Interested in sorting donations or meeting with families in need? Contact Kristan Walker at kwalker@trinitybirmingham.com.

Celebrate Recovery: Every Tuesday at 6:15pm, our church hosts a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain, or addiction of any kind. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from issues that are controlling our life. Volunteers can provide loving presence and organizational support.
